release blitz banner-5.jpg

Million Dollar Devil, a devilish contemporary romance where big-city sophistication meets carnal hunger from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans is LIVE!

Evans-MillionDollarDevil-28091-CV-FT-V3.jpg

Heir apparent to her father’s company, Lizzy Banks needs a man. The perfect man. But when the rich “fundbabies” she usually rubs shoulders with prove impossible to hire, she takes a chance on a raw beast of a man salvaged from the wreckage of a bar brawl.
James Rowan earns a modest income as a YouTube daredevil, but he can’t refuse Lizzy’s million dollar deal. As she polishes his rough edges, creating a sophisticated gentleman fit for the highest circles of society, not only does she bring out the perfect man—it’s like she’s making the man of her dreams. How can she resist?
Though Lizzy loves seeing James in his clothes—and out of them—he isn’t the kind of man you bring home to Daddy. Her father’s disapproval and the pressure of the campaign have her eyeing the straight and narrow, but Lizzy’s finding it awfully hard to resist the devil on her shoulder…
A stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Excerpt:

A cellist played Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” as Sierra Knight’s bridesmaids, her maid of honor, and the flower girl made their way down the aisle in a large church located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Sierra couldn’t see the procession but she’d been at the rehearsal, and she knew what was happening in the sanctuary of the church. From behind closed doors, where she stood with her oldest brother, Ethan, the deep strains of the string instrument reverberated around her, her heart beating hard and fast in her chest.
She smoothed a hand down her fit-and-flair style wedding gown with lace and beading that she’d loved the moment she’d slid it on. The cathedral-length veil in tulle was matched by the long train flowing behind her. She’d never felt more beautiful… or more nervous.
“Are you sure this is what you want?” Ethan asked, obviously reading her nerves as he put a hand on her trembling arm. “The car’s out front, the engine’s running,” he said, half joking, but she heard the serious note in his voice.
As her oldest brother, he was the father figure she’d always needed since their own parent never lived up to the role. Although Alexander Knight was sitting in one of the pews up front with wife number four, he wasn’t the man Sierra wanted walking her down the aisle. He hadn’t earned that honor nor had he seemed insulted that he hadn’t been asked to play the traditional role.
She thought about Ethan’s question, swallowed hard, and nodded. “Jason is a great guy,” she said, meaning every word.
She’d been with Jason Armstrong, a lawyer, for over a year and she knew him well. They’d met through friends and begun dating soon after. He had a calming presence and he catered to her every desire. He was a kind, decent man.
“I know I’ll have a good life with him,” she reassured her brother, glancing at his strong jaw, which he’d set as he narrowed his gaze.
“I married a woman I thought I knew,” Ethan said, digging into his own pain to make sure Sierra was okay. “Mandy wasn’t who I believed she was. I just want you to be sure you want to marry him.”
Ethan had recently lost his wife to an accidental drug overdose, then gone on to find out she’d been having an affair and stealing from the family company to subsidize her drug addiction. He was not only grieving, he was coming to terms with the betrayal.
But his words now were coming from an honest and good place, one of love. “Don’t get me wrong,” he continued. “I like Jason. We all do,” he said, referring to her two other brothers, Parker and Sebastian. “But are you passionately in love with him?”

BLURB
Protection has its price, but so do fantasies…
Fantasy Week happens twice a year at Crave, and it’s always a big hit—a way to live out your wildest fantasy in a safe, sane, and consensual manner.
But when Cade comes in with his Fantasy Week invitation, he’s not happy about it. He’s stoic as hell and his preferences don’t seem to match his fantasy at all…and yet, despite that, he enjoys himself with Tegan and Vic. At least at first.
When it becomes glaringly apparent that the fantasy isn’t something Cade’s comfortable with, it’s confusing for the men he’s been paired with, and Tegan and Vic put a stop to the scene immediately.
What Cade doesn’t know is that Tegan and Vic are not only co-owners of Crave, but they’re also owners of a mercenary group, Gray Ops, that’s run out of Crave. They’ve also been circling each other for years… but nothing sparks until their session with Cade.
What happened in Room 4 is something none of the men can forget…but it’s got nothing to do with a fantasy and everything to do with blackmail. Can Tegan and Vic help Cade keep his secrets, while keeping all of them safe at the same time? Because the threatening to spill out aren’t only Cade’s…
*This series is set in the MEN OF HONOR world, in the bar called Crave from Bound By Honor

Keeping Cade Teaser 2

Excerpt
Just when you thought you’d gotten away from this shit, you’re back in. Oz stopped in front of the door marked Room 4 and handed Cade his card. “Give this to the first man you see inside the room—that’s when your fantasy starts, so now’s the time for any last-minute questions or concerns.” “I just need to do this.” His heart thudded in his chest. He took a long gulp of water, and Oz put a hand on his arm. “Hey, it’s normal to be nervous, but this is supposed to be fun. Freeing. Nothing happens that you don’t want. Remember, red and yellow, okay?” Right—fun and freeing. Cade wanted to tell him that this was an obligation for someone he loved, because of someone he hated who, for all he knew, might show up behind this door…but instead, he simply nodded, handed off his glass…and walked inside. The door closed behind him as he waited for his eyes to adjust to the low lighting in the room. Later, he’d notice the bed in the corner, the bench, and various BDSM tools, but his immediate focus couldn’t help but narrow, with a laserlike intensity, on a man who took up all the space in the room. That force of nature stood casually, leaning against the wall, his gaze bent on exposing and seducing and Jesus, he was goddamned beautiful in that hot, badass kind of way with short, spiked, almost white-blond hair that made him look fierce. He was taller than Cade and broader, but his body was honed from whatever work he did for a living and not simply gym muscles. Cade could definitely tell the difference. This man was capable. This man would break him. And he’d have fun doing it. Cade shifted, not sure what to do next. Finally, he held out the card and said, “Hey, I’m Cade.” Like maybe the guy didn’t know who he was, or why he was here. The man’s dark-blue eyes caught him, held him in place. “Hey, I’m the one who’s going to make you scream.” His voice was a deep drawl that ran like warm honey down Cade’s spine. He fought a shudder and lost, and the man graced him with a wicked smile. Man up. Get it over with. Cade straightened his spine and waited for the order. It came far too quickly. “Strip. Now. There’s no reason to keep your clothes on for what you’re here to do.”

ON THE SUBJECT OF GRIFFONS by Lindsey Byrd Blog Tour

Blurb
They’ll do anything to save their children’s lives, even if it means working together.
Kera Montgomery is still mourning the sudden death of her husband, Morpheus, when her youngest son falls victim to a mysterious plague. With no medicinal cure, Kera must travel to the Long Lakes, where magical griffons capable of healing any ailment reside.
As an heiress unused to grueling travel, Kera struggles with the immense emotional and physical strain of her journey—one made more complex when she crosses paths with her husband’s former mistress, Aurora. Aurora’s daughter is afflicted with the same plague as Kera’s son, so despite their incendiary history, the two women agree to set aside their differences and travel together.
The road is fraught with dangers, both living and dead. Each night, old battlegrounds reanimate with ghosts who don’t know they’ve died, and murderous wraiths hunt for stray travelers caught out after dark. If Kera, Aurora, and their children are going to survive, they’ll need to confront the past that’s been haunting them since their journey began. And perhaps in the process, discover that old friends may not be as trustworthy as they once thought—and old enemies may become so much more.
Now available from Riptide Publishing and where ebooks are sold.

Inspiration

Like many good ideas, the inspiration for this book came when I least expected it. I was on Tumblr one night, reblogging random things, when I saw a writing prompt of sorts. I don’t have it anymore, but it said something to the effect of “Send me a title and a pairing, and I’ll write you a summary for a book I’ll never write.” Well. I wrote it. Not long after I posted the prompt, a good friend sent me this request:
Title: On the Subject of Griffons
Pairing: f/f
And I fell in love.
It took me a few moments to work out what I could do with something like that. I did a quick google search to learn about griffon mythology and soon discovered that griffons were associated with a kind of healing magic. From there, it didn’t take long to form a summary of a story where two mothers struggled save their children’s lives by traveling to find a griffon far, far away.
Any good story needs a strong sense of conflict though, and it felt almost too easy to have my main characters be on the same page (no pun intended) from the get go. I wanted them to be forced together, a kind of unlikely partnership that grew into something more. Something that was far easier said than done, because falling in love while your child is dying in your arms is not exactly an ideal circumstance.
There’s no shortage of people who say that you’ll know true love when someone can handle you at your worst, and this is very much The Worst for both Kera and Aurora. I certainly didn’t make it easy for either of them. Kera is a widow who lost her husband under violent circumstances she hadn’t recovered from, and Aurora was her husband’s mistress.
With the ham-handed flings of Hollywood flitting through my mind, I spent a long-time sending excerpts to my initial prompter. They, in turn, co-piloted the story from start to finish, listening to me discuss it and cheerily supporting each plot twist and development. With no wining or dining to rely on, my romance instead focused on something far more visceral. Women who could forgive past transgressions, who could set their differences aside for the common good, and who could find comfort in each other when the pain of their circumstances threatened to overwhelm them.
There’s a song I heard long after I wrote this book, one that seemed to wrap up the exact nature of their relationship in only a few lines. It’s called “Shot Change Hero” by the Heavy, and in the very first verse Kelvin Swaby sings:
“I can't see where you comin' from
But I know just what you runnin' from
And what matters ain't the, who's baddest but
The ones who stop you fallin' from your ladder.”
To me, their love story has always been exactly this. They didn’t expect it to happen, but when pain and suffering came: they were there for each other. If nothing else, to me that makes a compelling read. And I hope you think so too.
