Vic Vaughn is Vicious by J.A. Huss Cover Reveal

Vic Vaughn is Vicious
J.A. Huss
Publication date: August 31st 2021
Genres: Romantic Comedy

My name is Vicious. God-given name, I cross my heart.

And it fits.

I’m a hot-as-f, inked-up tattoo artist at the trendiest shop in the Rocky Mountains.

I have the looks, I have the bike, I have the reputation.

That means I get the ladies.

Sure. There are lots of women out there who hate tattoos. Wouldn’t be caught dead with guys like me. And that’s fine. I’m not looking for girls like that.

I’m looking for that other kind of girl.

The wild one, the bad one, the crazy one.

Funny thing is… the one I fell for isn’t that girl.

She’s the Good Girl.

And maybe back when she was nineteen I came off as a ‘maybe’, but after seven years of distance I am now the definition of ‘not a keeper’.

But I can be a keeper.

I can make the good girl swoon.

I can be the dream guy she never saw coming.

If she would just… not press charges… I’m pretty sure I can turn this whole relationship around.

Vic Vaughn is Vicious is a bad-boy-trying-his best-to-win-her-back romantic comedy about a misunderstood tattoo-artist-biker called Vicious and a good girl named Daisy who ghosted him seven years ago after she came to her senses. It’s filled with funny twists, dreams of grandeur, and all seven members of the most inappropriate family in all of Colorado.

EXCERPT

I put one hand up and slowly sign, Talk to me. It’s an easy sign and she gets it, because she goes tense again, then shakes her head no. But then she repeats my signs back with modifications, pointing at me, tapping her chin with a sideways hand, and then pointing to herself. You talk to me.
I already did.
She shakes her head and makes a sign for ‘whisper.’
And now it’s my turn to go tense and just stare at her for a moment.
Because she got it right. The sign is ‘talk,’ but if your other hand is cupped on the side of your mouth, it means ‘whisper.’ Like you’re gonna whisper in someone’s ear.
Did she just… I squint at her and she frowns in response. Has she taught herself sign language?
That’s not possible. Not this fast. It hasn’t even been a week.
Then whisper to me, I sign.
She shakes her head again. And then she touches my lips with the edge of her fingertips and slowly drags them up my cheek before pulling away.
‘Kiss.’ That was the sign for ‘kiss.’
She wants me to kiss her.
I know this is a distraction. I know who I’m dealing with. A girl who has been silent so long, no one remembers her last spoken words. A girl who should be dead, but isn’t. A girl who should be anywhere but here with me, but is. A girl who four days ago didn’t know a single bit of sign language, and now knows enough to stun me silent.
So I should really know better.
I should push her. Keep going. Because I could make her talk. I know I could.
But then she leans towards me. And we’re not that far apart, so that kiss she just asked for is now an absolute guarantee.
Our lips touch and just… linger there for a breath.
And so many things go through my mind in that breath. I want to resist her offer. Push her down, roll over, and forget where I’m at and who I’m with.
But that’s just fucking stupid. I like this girl. A lot.
I want to kiss her.
And all those other thoughts earlier about not wanting sex… well. This seems like more than sex. So that’s something I am interested in.
When our lips touch everything that happens next—whether it’s today, tomorrow, or next year—everything that happens next is preordained. And there’s no way to stop it.
I cup my hands around her face, my thumbs caressing small circles on her cheeks as her mouth opens and her tongue touches mine.
There is maybe one more moment. One more chance to stop the car crash that’s coming, but it’s such a small moment, so short and tiny, it barely exists.
And what comes next is pure lust.
I open my mouth, kiss her hard. Bite her lip, grab her breasts as I drop my full weight over her.
She kisses me back. But her kiss isn’t urgent, like mine. It’s soft. And even though we’re stained with salt water, and sweat, and the wind, she tastes so sweet, I want this kiss to last forever.

TWO FRIENDS
Self-made millionaires JD and Ark are not out to save anyone when they stumble upon a wet and shivering girl one early Sunday morning. But when you sell sex for a living and salvation rings your bell... you answer the call.

THREE SOULMATES

After years of searching, love lifts the veil of darkness, and three people--with three very big secrets--find themselves bound together in a relationship that defies the odds.

Or does it?

Love. Lust. Sex.

Three, Two, One (321)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Several friends told me to read this book so I gave in. I just finished a couple of minutes ago. So this review may be rambling. I haven't thought it out yet.

This story has so many elements that I need to discuss. From the very first scene, it had me. I don't remember ever reading a story before that started from this angle. The beginning is insane. I was shocked that meetings and offers would take off like they did. Information is slowly given to the reader so when it begins, you only see a random chick, a guy coming on to her and a guy filming. Three people, totally different, yet alike in so many ways. All are lost, looking for something.
Everybody's got a past. Everybody is running from some demon or another. Everybody needs a second chance. If there's a person out there who has not fucked up royally and needed a second chance...well, that person hasn't lived yet.

I didn't know how connected in the underlying scheme and in heart each one was when I first saw them. Their first scenes together felt sort of awkward, but they continually evolved. I didn't know this craziness would turn into lust like no other. I've read some hot books, but hell their scenes turned me on. I don't mean a little. It's like I need a break to catch my breath here. Every book synopsis boasts of how provocative it is this days so I can't even express this enough. You just have to read it to understand. Then before you know it, love takes over.
"Three, two, one...action."

While all of this is going on, there is an overall backstory causing fear, just waiting to jump into the forefront. Slowly bits of each character are revealed. Confusion steps in. You're not sure which way is up or where the storyline is going to go.
'Not everything should come in threes.'

'Every set of three is perfect.'

How does one story have so much? Love, heartbreak, sexiness, action, mystery, friendship, tragedy, sweetness, excitement, beauty, ugliness, completeness—the list goes on. I am so hungover, I could cry right now. I loved the whole book. The author does an excellent job of putting the reader in positions most of us will never find ourselves in real life. It enables you to sympathize and connect. The way the plot slowly unfolds ensures you are totally invested. It's a perfectly preformed bittersweet symphony. I loved it, and now I'm going to sit and dwell. It's over, but I'm still stuck inside.
