Sarge by Bey Deckard

This author's writing is so fresh. I read a lot and sometimes stories feel somewhat recycled, definitely not the case with anything Bey writes.

Sarge is a sci-fi, futuristic, war, BDSM combo. It's short, but the wording is perfect, no repetition, exactly right for bringing the setting to life in our minds. It contains plenty of action to carry the story solely and the perfect amount of sexuality to hook the reader.



Murphy is a 6'8" powerhouse of a man.

"So, are you completely proportionate?"

He's a get-things-done type of trooper and rarely speaks. Anyone would assume a man this size would have to lead, but he's a submissive.



Sarge is older than most of the soldiers. He's been fighting since before some of them were even born. He is definitely the take charge type.

The wound's gotta hurt like hell, but this is the Sarge. He's a legend.

Since this book isn't long, I don't want to give very much away. Most everything in it is better to just learn as you read. Although, I'm a woman and loved it, I would call this a manly book, lots of action and love that is isn't gooey. We live in a time when anyone can publish a book, but this author is a true master of words. I'm looking forward to reading more of them.

I give it 4.5 stars

This book was suggested to me. If I would have been picking something on my own, I would not have went for it. It's historical, which I figured wouldn't be my thing, but I absolutely loved it! I was looking for something different so this definitely fulfilled that request.

Jon is unhappy and sickly, but he's also special. His powers of observation are better than the average person so his skills are in high demand. He's awkward and tends to keep to himself. In the days before video cameras (or any electrical devices), credit card trails and DNA testing, Jon's ability to read others and follow his gut has him being used by the higher-ups to interrogate prisoners. He's never shown love or friendship, only used like any other tool.

Baltsaros is a pirate ship captain. He's also very mysterious. In my mind, he's kind of a medicine-man/voodoo priest/Dom. Baltsaros is a crazy pirate, but a great leader. He's not a good guy, but he's fair to his crew.

Tom is the first mate. It's hard to know how to take him. Is he sweet underneath a protective shell? Is he coo-coo wrapped in muscles? Tom is wickedly perverse and a natural sailor. He's guaranteed to have a side that will flip your switch.

So these three men are on a boat together. The sexual tension is so thick it fogged up my kindle screen. Don't worry all these desires come to fruition several times with the men in groups of two and three. But is there enough room on this ship for these three large personalities?

However, when Baltsaro's thick cock pushed slow and hard into his body, Jon captured Tom's mouth with his own, forcing himself to relax into the sensation of being stretched wide. He groaned loud, and Tom twisted his fingers into Jon's dark curls, kissing him with frantic, rough passion.

Baltsaros began fucking Jon with long strokes that drove him hard into Tom's body. It was perfect and exquisite, this feeling of fucking and being fucked.

And...while all of this is going on, we have battles, deaths, explosions, missing limbs, whore houses at the end of the world... There are even some women characters with pretty significant roles. It's a very well-rounded tale.

Everything brought out in the storyline is just a another puzzle piece to the overall enigma that is Baal's Heart. I'm eager to find out more.

Sacrificed: Heart Beyond the Spires by Bey Deckard

This series is majorly great. In the current installment, Baal's Heart of course gets into some very stressful situations. I had to stop for a breather a couple of times because I was nervous. The timeline switches from past to current, catching us up nicely. The adventures are extremely interesting. There are always clues that could possibly mean something. You never quite know where the storyline is headed. There is no downtime. This book has a bit of everything: action, mystery, angst, eroticism, BDSM, mysticism, symbolism, psychology...and a healthy dose of The Feels in my opinion.

"Hush, lovey. Hush, it'll be ok, Jon. Stop your fightin', it's just me. Old Tom's goin' to make things better..."

Umm, yes, please, I do need Tom to come make it better. Can I put a request in for that?

The kiss was endless, staggering. It was as if a dam had broken between the men as they strained against each other on the hard mattress. They were raw with desire and thoughts unsaid, both wanting to draw the moment out as long as they could, knowing that it might be a very long time before they had a chance to shed their skins and press their scarred hearts together again.

The more I learn about Tom, the more I love him. What a sweet soul he is under all that damage.

"He sees the good in me, Da, plain as day. That's somethin' worth fightin' for. Maybe even dyin' for."

Not only do we learn more about Tom, but we find out some more about the captain's little quirk. Can't say as that I'm not troubled, but I do see some good in Baltsaros.

Jon has really changed from the last book. He's more take charge which is great, but at the same time, he isn't as innocent.

The settings are amazing, ancient fictional lands and people. The sex scenes are off the charts hot (and some are very emotional). Everything is so extremely well written. Please do yourself a favor and pick up this series immediately. I often make fan pics for books I love, but the author is an artist and has already drawn some up under art on his blog. These are so much better than anything I could make and definitely not safe for work.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. 5+++
