More Than Words by Mia Sheridan Blog Review

Description

No one lays open the heart and soul quite like New York Times bestselling author Mia Sheridan in this heart-wrenching love story about destiny, second chances, and the healing power of love set in the beautiful countryside in France.

Named on of the "Best Romance Books of 2018" by BookBub!

The moment she met Callen Hayes, eleven-year-old Jessica Creswell knew he was a broken prince. Her prince. They became each other's refuge, a safe and magical place far from their troubled lives. Until the day Callen kissed her -- Jessica's first real, dreamy kiss -- and then disappeared from her life without a word.

Years later, everyone knows who Callen Hayes is. Famous composer. Infamous bad boy. What no one knows is that Callen's music is now locked deep inside, trapped behind his own inner demons. It's only when he withdraws to France to drink his way through the darkness that Callen stumbles into the one person who makes the music return. Jessica. His Jessie. And she still tastes of fresh, sweet innocence . . . even as she sets his blood on fire.

But they don't belong in each other's worlds anymore. There are too many mistakes. Too many secrets. Too many lies. All they have is that instinctive longing, that need--and something that looks dangerously like love.

Praise for More Than Words

"Simply perfect. There is no love story like a Mia Sheridan love story. I was absolutely swept up in Callen and Jessie, and fell for them just as hard as they fell for each other. I loved it." -- A.L. Jackson, New York Times Bestselling Author

"More than Words is Mia Sheridan at her best! The story of love, heartbreak and second chances ... each scene was beautifully written and paired with breathtaking imagery and epic love." -- Alessandra Torre, New York Times Bestselling Author

More Than WordsMore Than Words by Mia Sheridan

Jessica and Callen are easy to root for and love. They're sweet characters with an awww love story. There are a couple of moments where I wanted to kick them, but I kept the faith that they would have their HEA. The setting is in France. Jessica's job is translating old writings so there is an interesting side story she's working on that's a bonus to the main couple's tale. I really enjoyed this and all the historical bits and descriptive scenery and sightseeing of France. More Than Words is written by one of my favorite authors, and as expected, she delivers the romance. This isn't my favorite book from her, but I liked it and do recommend it.

Grayson's Vow by Mia Sheridan Review

A full-length, standalone romance from the New York Timesbestselling author of Archer's Voice.

Kira Dallaire is desperate.

Some challenges in life seem too hard to overcome. With little money, and even fewer options, the quick-witted and vibrant twenty-two-year-old needs to reinvent herself. Known for her generous heart and impulsive personality, she devises a survival plan, possibly her most outrageous idea yet.

Grayson Hawthorn is losing hope.

Some obstacles in life seem too hard to overcome. Betrayal definitely being one of them. With limited capital, and dwindling resources, he is attempting to resurrect his failing family vineyard, a self-imposed vow seemingly destined to fail. That is until a young woman enters his office with an outlandish, unexpected proposition impossible to refuse.

What begins as a temporary business arrangement, soon evolves into more as vivacious, spirited Kira challenges detached, arrogant Grayson to want more from life. To want more for himself. But as their wills clash and fiery passion ignites, they'll realize that sometimes the past creates walls too difficult to climb, and that lies and deception rarely precede a happily every after.

As Kira and Grayson race toward their destiny, they will discover that some vows are meant to be broken, and others are worth risking everything for . . . even your very own heart.

THIS IS A STANDALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY LIBRA. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Mia Sheridan is a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling author. Her passion is weaving true love stories about people destined to be together. Mia lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband. They have four children here on earth and one in heaven.

Grayson's Vow

4.5 stars

Mia Sheridan is a master of writing tortured characters like puppies being trampled by big dogs, but then those puppies grow up inevitably changing the dynamics.

Grayson and Kira both came from wealthy prominent families. Unfortunately, this just gave their abusers (aka parents) more power and money with which to mistreat them. One was constantly reminded how much they were never wanted, and the other was just another possession to be used for the owner's benefit.

Grayson has put up a barrier between himself and most of the world, sealing his pain inside. He's gorgeous on a physical level which is as far as anyone is allowed to go. "Abs and Hidden Torment: A Man's Guide to Bagging Babes" would be his title if he were a book.

Kira is wild and outgoing. No one knows what she's going to do next. Her plots have been lovingly dubbed Very Bad Ideas . Despite everything, she is super giving to humanity.

The two of them get together with a plan to their mutual advantage, but of course lines get crossed. When feelings get involved, things irrevocably change. The reader comes to know them as The Dragon and The Witch.
"Forget the prince and princess. I always imagined the real story was between the witch and the dragon."

This story has themes of forgiveness, charity, kindness, self-discovery, acceptance, strength, friendship and familial and romantic love. I enjoyed it of course.

Also, I always have to show love to an HP reference.
"Like the wizard, sir, only I don't got a scar on my forehead."

Kyland by Mia Sheridan Review

Dirt poor. Hillbilly. Backwoods hick. Mountain folk.

Tenleigh Falyn struggles each day to survive in a small, poverty-stricken, coal mining town where she lives with her sister and mentally ill mother. Her dream of winning the college scholarship given to one student by the local coal company and escaping the harshness of her life, keeps her going.

Kyland Barrett lives in the hills, too, and has worked tirelessly—through near starvation, through deep loneliness, against all odds—to win the Tyton Coal Scholarship and leave the town that is full of so much pain.

They're both determined not to form any attachments, but one moment changes everything. What happens when only one person gets to win? When only one person gets to leave? And what happens to the one left behind?

Kyland is a story of desperation and hope, loss and sacrifice, pain and forgiveness, but ultimately, a story of deep and unending love.

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY TAURUS. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Kyland (A Sign of Love)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kyland is my top book of 2015 so far. Mia is the Queen of Romance. Her male leads are so freaking amazing that my emotions can barely handle them. It's so wonderful in the era of bad boys to read about a perfectly sweet to the bone good guy.

The story begins with Tenleigh and Kyland struggling in high school. Both are super poor and barely keeping their heads above the water with their home lives. The only chance either has to make it out is to win the one full ride scholarship offered. Both are desperate. Both are deserving. It's heartbreaking as is, but then factor in the fact that they are in love. Oh my heart!
Sometimes my life felt so small. And I had to wonder why those of us who were given small lives, still had to feel pain so big.

The author does an excellent job of showing the reader what life is really like for these characters. The descriptions are pretty accurate. Sacrifices must be made. Pain must be endured. The storyline really shows how selfless and full of fight the human spirit can be.

Tenleigh is a great girl. She's easy to root for. Kyland is such a real man. Even though he's young, he already has qualities many men will never possess in their lifetimes.

This is a story that makes you feel like you can make a difference. It restores some of your faith in the world. And it makes you believe in the power of love. I cannot stress enough how much a recommend this book.
